Applying Jamberry Nails The biggest thing to remember during application is that heat and pressure are your friend! The more heat and pressure you apply, the better the result will be. It is also very important to have clean, oil free nails. If you have naturally oily nails, you may want to consider purchasing a nail dehydrator in a beauty supply store to use in addition to using alcohol to prep your nails prior to application. Step 1: Clean nails with nail polish remover (make sure it is not a moisturizing remover) or rubbing alcohol. (Clean and oil free nails are vital to get the best application possible. Be sure to complete this step thoroughly.) Step 2: Trim and file your nails to your desired length and shape. Step 3: Buff the top of each nail and push back all cuticles. Step 4: Match nail (finger or toe) to the nail shield that best fits each particular nail. Step 5: Peel off the nail shield, hold it with tweezers and warm it with a blow-dryer for 10-15 seconds. It should become soft and flexible. Step 6: When the nail shied is warm, press the shield firmly onto the nail. Apply firm pressure around all edges to adhere the shield to the nail. Use a rubber cuticle pusher to seal the shield around the cuticle. Step 7: Trim across the top of each nail with scissors to remove any excess. Then file the tip in adownward motion to remove further traces of excess. Step 8: Apply heat and pressure to the shield again until it is tightly sealed to the nail. (Repeating this step several times helps create a tight and watertight seal to the nail surface. It will also increase your nail shield wear time) Optional Step 9: If you are particularly active, you can add a small amount of nail glue to your nail tips to get a better seal on the nail shield. Here’s a great video walking you through the application steps. Removing Jamberry Nails Use hair dryer to heat your applied nail shields for 15 seconds. Lift a corner of the shield and slowly peel from the corner of your nail. Again, heat is very important in the removal process. If you experience difficulty in peeling the shields away from your nail, try using a little bit of olive oil or acetone around the curled up edges as you peel.
